DC VS RR: A MATCH REVIEW

DC VS RR: A MATCH REVIEW

It was one heck of a game,a lot of topsy turvy moments and at last RR came out winning a thriller.RR had a worst possible start as they lost Vohra,Buttler,Samson and Dubey early but it didn’t stop their they lost Riyan Parag too. At a point they were 42/5. The inform David Miller who came in place of Ben Stokes started building a partnership with Tewatia and when they started accelerating Tewatia got out But Miller got to his fifty but soon he too got out. At the point the game looked lost for RR but Millionaire Chris Morris had other plans and scored 27 of the last two overs to hand RR their first win of thee season.

DC too didn’t started pretty good they were also three down inside the powerplay. And Marcus Stoinis got out in the 7th over. But Rishabh Pant made a brilliant fifty and when the platform was set for him to go on full monty he got run out. But some lower order contribution got DC to 147 which was a below par score but looking at the chasing record in this year’s IPL it looked like a tricky chase and DC’s bowlers proved that.

Rishabh Pant:┬áThe bowlers did a good job at the start, but we let them get over us in the end. We could have bowled a bit better. It’s part and parcel of the game and dew played a big role in the end. We were 15-20 runs short. But at least there is something to gain from this match, the bowlers did a great job at the start. Hopefully if something like this happens we can pull it off. In the second innings, there was much more dew, so the slower ball wasn’t stopping. So we had to something in the second innings.

Sanju Samson:┬áHad some hopes with Miller and Morris to come but to be really honest I thought that it was tough from there and I think the boys did really well to get over the line. It’s about reading the conditions. Was a bit sticky to start with. Hard lengths and mixing up with the variations was the key. That’s also our strength – three left-armers. They are slightly different from the other so we can use it in a different way. We had a chat with him, he was very confident and very clear (Sakariya). Can’t do much, was just praying inside. Always sit back and review my game. If I play that match again 100 times I would not take the single (on denying strike to Morris last time).

Jaydev Unadkat is the player of the match.
