England and New Zealand face off once again at Lords after the World cup 2019 final. Where New Zealand will be playing at their full strength, there are a few big names missing in the England squad likes of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Johny Bairstow. Jofra is out of the team due to a persistent elbow injury and needs to go through another surgery after he recently got one earlier this year. The other members are rested due to a long cricketing schedule. But this injury of Kofta Archer is becoming a serious problem not only for ECB but also for Jofra himself. Let’s hope he makes a comeback to the international cricket as soon as possible. Apart from all those Ben Foakes is also out due to a hamstring tear and will be replaced by Sam Billings. England have got a few new players and some of them will be making a debut for England this series as they try to address their concerns in batting department ahead of the Ashes this year. Whereas Bowling department is in great hands of Stuart Broad James Anderson,Mark Wood and a few new players.
Newzealand on the other hand are playing with their full strength side as they have their eyes on that WTC trophy. This does not mean they would go easy on England but they will be itching to play in that WTC final. But before that they would want to get into a rhythm or some sort of form going into the final. But the main thing will be they have to keep their players fit and fresh for that match and keeping that in mind Trent Boult has been given rest for the first test, he will be available for the selection from the second test. What will be more interesting to see that how Kyle Jamieson perform outside the New Zealand as it is his first tour is whites outside New Zealand. He had an exceptional time playing for New Zealand in the home series against India and Pakistan. While in the absence of Trent Boult the responsibilities will be on Southee’s shoulders to lead the bowling attack. New Zealand also have a couple of very bright talented cricketers in their squad (Devon Convoy, Will Young), Let’s see how they fare if they get a chance and will they get a chance? Nevertheless it is going to be a close fought series and the cricket lovers around the world will get to see some cricket after all.
