RR has been if not the most then one of the most underperforming team of this league over the years. They won their maiden title in the opening season when they were mere underdogs but now when they have the likes of Ben Stokes Jos buttler in the ranks they seem to just mess the things up. Last year they started their campaign on a very bright note with two scintillating wins but soon it all faded away. This year they have a new captain and some very exciting new faces so they should feel confident about the team they got. Chris Morris ‘the biggest buy ever in the IPL history’ will be they key for them because of the death bowling struggles and also due to the absence of Jofra in the starting part of the tournament. But the most important thing for them will be the consistent and performing Sanju Samson if he can deliver a good season for RR then we are in for a show.
Whereas Punjab Kings changed their name from Kings XI punjab and now seek the change of fortune for them. In the leadership of KL Rahul they managed to put some incredible performances but lost a couple of very easy games so overall their last season was a mix bag but if they can take the positives and move ahead in this tournament they could turn some tables they certainly have the capabilities. The likes of Nicholas Pooran, the skipper himself and Chris Gayle can change the game on it’s head but what they would hope for is a better bowling performance from their bowlers.
