After 46 days of high-octane entertainment, the league stages of IPL 2020 concluded yesterday. The focus now shifts to the Women’s T20 challenge which will get kick-started in Sharjah today. What began as a pilot project in 2018 with two teams, WT20C has grown bigger and better. Although it’s still at a nascent level, the seeds have been sown already. So with a hope that a full-fledged IPL for women is conceptualized sooner than later

Owing to the pandemic, WT20C 3.0 has been moved to the UAE akin to the men’s IPL. The norm has been to squeeze the games in the Play-offs window and that tradition has been retained. But this year, the league is colliding with WBBL and as a result, some of the top-tier cricketers will be giving it a miss.
